Lenovo ThinkBook 15 15.6" Intel Core i7-1065G7

Lenovo is among the top brands that manufacture laptops for both personal and professional needs. The company has many laptop lines, such as the ThinkPad, IdeaPad, Yoga, ThinkBook and many more. Each one of these series caters to the computing needs of specific customers. Among these, the ThinkBook line differs from other Lenovo series due to its extra security features and better support options. These laptops boast both exceptional business characteristics and qualities of an entertainment gadget.

Lenovo ThinkBook 15 is a relatively new addition to the ThinkBook series. It comes in two different sizes, one is 14-inch and the other is a slightly bigger 15.6-inch variant. Both come with exceptional hardware and some amazing features as business laptops. But like we always said, don’t put your money on a laptop if you don’t know what it has got to offer.

That’s why we have reviewed the ThinkBook 15 - 20SM002QUK to find out its strengths and weaknesses. You are going to read about the design, display, connectivity, keyboard functionality and performance of the ThinkBook 15. Before we proceed to that, let’s take a look at its specs sheet.

Design

Lenovo has built the ThinkBook 15 - 20SM002QUK with aluminium material. It has got an overall ionised metal chassis which is not heavy. The laptop weighs around 3.75 lbs (1.7 kg) and is very light to carry around. The model we tested for this review came in sleek grey colour and added elegance to its overall appearance.

This is a sturdy, strong body that Lenovo claims is military-grade tested. This simply means that it can handle extreme pressure, vibrations, temperatures, and other conditions.

Display

Lenovo ThinkBook 15 has got a 15.6-inch wide FHD IPS display featuring a 1080p screen resolution. Lenovo has made it almost borderless on both the right and left sides. Its screen glare depends on the light and where you are sitting, whether outside or in the room. However, you can change the display settings using Lenovo’s Vantage application. For instance, you can select Eye Care mode if you are planning to work on the ThinkPad 15 for a prolonged time.

Thanks to Intel Iris Plus Integrated graphics, you get to experience rich visuals with vivid, bright colours. Whether you are streaming Netflix series or editing something, you’ll enjoy its colourful display.

Keyboard

Like most Lenovo laptops, the ThinkBook 15 has also got a worthy keyboard. It has decent key travel and space, whereas the keys produce minimal sounds upon pressing. It also has got backlight features which you can turn on or off depending on your requirements. This is a highly productive keyboard but does lack some function keys, including the screen print key and the right-click button.

Coming to the touchpad, we were impressed by its responsiveness. It’s a multitouch pad that works well around the corners and cuts. We did not experience any unnecessary resistance while gliding fingers on it to control the device.

Connectivity

Lenovo ThinkBook 15 has the right number of ports as a business laptop. It houses a number of variable ports on both the left and right side of its chassis. There is a card slot, Type-C USB, a mic/headphone combo jack, an HDMI, a USB 3.1 and a USB 2.0 port.

Performance

The choice of hardware on this business device will give you Goosebumps at this price. Lenovo ThinkBook 15 - 20SM002QUK is armed with a 10th generation core i7 CPU that delivers a base speed of 1.3GHz. This quad-core processor can offer a maximum turbo speed of 3.9GHz and runs on the Windows 10 Home operating system.

Then there is a powerful duo of 512GB SSD storage a massive 16GB RAM. This is a great combination of components that help you achieve more without stressing the hardware. You can easily multitask, browse multiple categories and run creative design software while working on another project. A 10th generation CPU along with an enormous 16GB memory simply means you’ll get all the power you need, whenever you need it.

Battery Life

Lenovo ThinkBook 15 comes with a 45Wh battery that means it could offer up to 9 hours of battery life. This is a good battery time from a laptop like this, at this price range.

Verdict

Those who are looking for a powerhouse must consider the Lenovo ThinkBook 15 - 20SM002QUK. It is lightweight, easy to carry, has the latest high-end specs and could offer a decent battery time. Whether you are a businessman or a creative professional, you can get the job done while on the go.
